Hooray! J.K. Rowling has finally revealed some details about her upcoming novel, which will be available on September 27, 2012.
The Casual Vacancy, a “‘blackly comic’ novel set in an idyllic English town where all is not what it seems,” according to an article in Reuters, will mark Rowling’s first book aimed at an adult audience, and it sounds like it will be distinctly different from the world of wizards. Rather than Muggles and wands and horcruxes, The Casual Vacancy will focus on Pagford, a town in upheaval following the death of a parish council member.
Harry Potter and his friends have made me a lover and supporter of all things Rowling, so I have high hopes for this new offering. What do you think about the premise?
